Stevie Wonder: A Man with a Vision

Stevie Wonder once said: “Just because a man lacks the use of his eyes does not mean he lacks vision.” He is a perfect example of a man who had an inspired vision in life, but who was physically blind.

Stevie Wonder is a talented artist who both sings and writes his own songs, as well as, being able to play many musical instruments. Since he was an infant, he was blind, which resulted from retinopathy of prematurity. This is an ocular disorder that causes damage to the retina; thus, causing blindness. Despite being blind, Stevie is very optimistic about his life and his career. He even says that he feels blessed for losing his eyesight at a very early age because he would not last a minute if he had ever been able to see anything.

Stevie Wonders achievements are numerous, but the talent that he possesses is even more astounding. Imagine playing the guitar without being able to see the strings or playing the piano without seeing the keys. Stevie Wonder demonstrates that sight is only a physical property of the human body, but vision is something deeper and is found within the soul.

Furthermore, Stevie’s message to other people living with disabilities would be LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST.
